JSA All-Stars is a collection of stories that are vignettes about one of the characters in the Justice Society of American per issue. While there are a few interesting points, this is generally pretty mundane stuff and nothing you need to seek out/5(7).

This trade, JSA ALL-STARS: CONSTELLATIONS, collects the first six issues of this JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA spin-off. For now, I'm on board. It all hinges on the Magog factor. "Constellations" feels a bit like one of those teen flicks in which the /5(7).

Reviewed in the United States on July 3, The JSA All Stars were a spinoff of the iconic JSA which was simply getting too many members. The All Stars lasted less than two years before DC pulled the plug on them and this collection of comics shows you why.

If these are the "Glory Days" of the JSA allstars book Stars, no wonder the series crashed and burned/5(5). JSA All-Stars came out at a time right before Geoff JSA allstars book became DC's golden boy, and he, along with David Goyer had made the JSA a fan and critical favorite.

Goyer eventually moved on, and Johns continued writing JSA for a few more years solo, along with roughly half of DC's output/5. JSA All-Stars was a spin off of the Justice Society of America book before the New 52 relaunch. It was basically the younger members, those who were bumping up against the older generation with their attitudes and views on fighting crime.

It generally works, and I found the story was riveting/5. JSA All-Stars: Constellations. DC Comics, Paperback. Very Good. Appears to be unread with NO markings.

It ran from until It starred Justice Society, Hourman, Judomaster, and Power Girl. Still, overall, an enjoyable issue. "JSA All-Stars" early on looked like a book that was destined to take half of the JSA members out of my reading habits, but I think Sturges and Williams have turned this title around.

In comics these days, that's a pleasant surprise. Share Tweet Email. : Greg Mcelhatton. Reading "JSA All-Stars" shouldn't feel like a particularly odd episode of "To Catch a Predator" and in many ways it's the centerpiece of the issue. Freddie Williams II is also providing some of the least attractive art of his career; on books like "Robin" and "Seven Soldiers: Mister Miracle" I liked his smooth, slick characters and lines.

WRITTEN BY DAVID S. GOYER AND GEOFF JOHNS; ART BY SAL VELLUTO AND BOB ALMOND; COVER BY JOHN CASSADAY An all-star group of creators tackles the JSA past and present. This 8-issue miniseries provides a perfect introduction to the rich world of the JSA. ), on the Friday, Decem article on "List of the Final Pre-Flashpoint DC Universe Trade Collections", there is a note that "DC cancelled JSA All-Stars: Puzzle Men, leaving the end of this series uncollected." Not definitive proof, but good enough for me/5.

There's a strange "hurry up and wait" attitude coming off of the finished book this month, which is disappointing since it's felt the last few months like "JSA All-Stars" had finally found its voice. On the plus side, I think this issue had the best art from Freddie Williams II to date.

Now that the set-up is done, though, hopefully future issues will hit the ground running and move full speed ahead. My biggest complaint was that it didn't feel like much happened (with all of the set-up .JSA: All Stars Comic Books series: Show Covers only: Sales Rank #2, See Top 2, Publisher DC • Super-hero First Issue #1 - February Last #18 - July Continued from JSA: All Stars ( series) After the breakup of the Justice Society, Magog takes control of one team.
